Paula Byrne nasceu na Inglaterra em 1967 e estudou na Universidade de Liverpool. É autora de várias biografias, como "Mad World: Evelyn Waugh and the Secrets of Brideshead" (2009) e "Kick: The True Story of JFK's Forgotten Sister and the Heir to Chatsworth" (2016). Seu primeiro livro, "Jane Austen and the Thea­tre" (2002), foi relançado sob o título de "The Genius of Jane Austen: Her Love of Theatre and Why She Works in Hollywood" (2017).
