I remember when I first started reading the Bible how overwhelming it was to me. I did not understand it. It seemed so disconnected and foreign to what I knew about life. Some of the words were strange and unfamiliar to me. I can only imagine that many others felt the same way.
Now, decades later, through study and spiritual growth, my understanding is far more mature, and the wisdom God has given me to apply his Word to my life context is much greater. I have a greater understanding of how it is all connected, although I am the first to admit there is much more for me to learn. The complexity of learning and doing the will of God has come into a much simpler focus for me. While profound enough in its academic width and depth to challenge the mind of the most ardent, scholarly theologian, the Bible's simplicity is available for all common folks like me. And that is what I hope to convey to all who read this book.
God loves you and he wants you to know Him and love Him. He has prepared for you your own little Garden in "Paradise." This book helps one understand the personal relationship God intends for them to have Him. God has both a general will for all of us, and a unique will for each of us. This book is about learning and living in the will of God. The practical application of the biblical instruction offers both encouragement and possibility to the reader to help them recognize their own "little garden in Eden." That garden is the "paradise" He desires for each of us.
