A tear in the world has been ripped.

In the five years since defeating the Queen Witch life has been bountiful for the companions. They have thrived together joyfully, but the responsibilities of their new lives can take away time spent with dear friends. There is a collective bittersweet yearning for when they all had more time together mingled with pride in their accomplishments.

But there is an unseen intruder lurking in the shadows of their happy lives.

Evil spirits have been slowly seeping through a tear in the fiber between worlds that should have never been defiled. One of those spirits attacks Aram and Yocelin in their sleep, putting Yocelin in mortal danger and bringing out the cursed side of Aram. They are rescued by the ancient wolf guardian, Mac Tyre, who has come to ask for their help to heal the tear in the fabric between worlds.

The trauma of the attack has erupted into a rift in Aram and Yocelin's relationship igniting unforeseen doubts and long buried anguish, but they must forge ahead with their duty to Raashan in spite of their personal troubles.
