Insurrection is always the reaction from a people who have endured being pent up for too long, and this was a fact soon to be discovered by the Zebral Koalas. However, an insurrection needs soldiers, and those in turn need provisions, and these would be provided by The Subsistencers.
For Tobias Caveson, joining the insurrection as a Subsistencer was a chance to prove himself a man, and to go on an adventure at the same time. However, the adventure that he will experience may not be what he had in mind.
Fuelled by the propaganda from his own side, he rushes headlong into conflict, and gradually understands the reality of things, partly through his own eyes, and partly through discourse with one of the enemy that he ends up having to depend upon.
