A California hapa (Okinawan/Anglo) family's coming of age story. Nearing the auspicious age of 60, reclusive June travels from her cozy San Francisco studio condo to visit Okinawa, the island of her birth. She is accompanied by her elderly mother, pot-smoking surfer brother, and conservative Christian teenage niece (who is a closeted lesbian). Their journey is rocked by mystic calls from their ancestral culture.
