Fort Wayne, Indiana. Fire Station 1. The end of the world.

Unintentional consequences cause firefighter Matt Daniels to miss a run (one of the most embarrassing things that can happen to a fireman). Waking up from his near-comatose state, he discovers the world he knows lying in ruins as an alien invasion is under way.

While Daniels works to secure the engine house, Ray Starns, a homeless man, discovers an opening and sneaks inside. After the pair discover each other, they must set aside their differences and find a way to work together to keep the growing horde of aliens at bay.

Ultimately, Daniels is forced to decide which threat poses a greater risk to his life ? the creatures outside or the man inside.
