Edgar Miller is a retired newsman and journalism educator now living in Knoxville, Tennessee. Miller began his career as a copy boy on The Knoxville Journal in 1955. He was a reporter for the Journal and worked for The Associated Press for 18 years, including 13 years as a foreign correspondent in Brazil and the Caribbean. He later was managing editor of The Chattanooga Times and assistant managing editor of UPI. He returned to Knoxville in 1991 and earned a master's degree in communications. He taught journalism at the University of Tennessee.
