Autobiography: Fauneil was born and raised in rural Nebraska. As a youth, she began her study of music, which developed into a career as a church pipe organist. An interest in literature led to her career as a teacher and a writer. She has four degrees: BS. Sci. in Ed., University of NE; M.Ed., University of Arizona; B.A. and M.A., San Jose State University. She has traveled throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe and has lived and worked in five states: Nebraska, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and California
