Five artists. One idyllic retreat. One deadly secret . . .
Lake Geneva, 1923. When former nurse Liv Gibson gets a letter inviting her to be a housekeeper for the summer at Lake Geneva during an artist retreat, she jumps at the chance to escape her difficult post-war life.
Upon meeting the organiser of the retreat, the highly esteemed novelist Hugh Fellowes, she soon realises that the retreat - with it's quirky and unpredictable inhabitants - will be a lot more chaotic than she expected. With various trysts, affairs, bad behaviour and many, many parties, it would seem Hugh is less focused on writing his highly anticipated second novel and more on entertainment.
What no one is aware of, however, is that Liv is not at the retreat acting simply as a housekeeper. She has secrets of her own - and high on her agenda is revenge . . .
