Eleven-year-old Shehnaaz lives in the bustling city of Ain Zahra, where she helps at her family's textile stall and notices the small things others often miss.
One day, while tidying an old storeroom, she discovers a forgotten lamp-and an ancient Djinn bound to it.
Shehnaaz is granted three wishes. At first, the possibilities seem endless. But when her first wish helps her family while quietly hurting others, she begins to understand that even a kind choice can travel farther than the person making it can see.
Her second wish brings water to the city-but when drought follows, Shehnaaz faces a harder question: should she simply wish again, or stop, listen, and understand what the people of Ain Zahra can do together?
With only one wish remaining, Shehnaaz must decide what kind of hero she chooses to become.
The Djinn of the Lamp: Beyond Wishes is an illustrated story about kindness, consequences, courage, responsibility, and the power of listening before acting. Written for ages 6-9, it invites young readers to discover that sometimes the strongest solutions are not magical at all.
This is the opening title in Journey of the Inner Hero, a series about young characters who learn that the greatest adventures often begin with the choices they make within and the kindness they share with others.
